CMJ Music Maration & Film Festival 2012

The CMJ Festival is two weeks away and it’s already promising to be a great event! The CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival is an annual event put together by the CMJ Network. It is comprised of 4 main events.

  • CMJ Music Marathon – Artists and Bands selected by CMJ perform at various locales across New York City.
  • CMJ Film Festival – features and shorts from around the world are played here, including advanced screenings, major studio productions and independent films.
  • CMJ Music Marathon College Day – focused on college radio, with the main focus of the day being the College Radio Awards.
  • CMJ Music Marathon CLE Program – focuses on educating attendees about music industry legalities such as copyrighting and licensing.

The CMJ Festival main headquarters will be at New York University and events will be held all over the city from October 16 -20.

We are definitely excited to see what, or should I say who, is going to come out of this festival in the coming years. The line up for the music festival is already impressive and has been in previous years. This year, we’ll see the likes of…

Killer Mike
Soho Kings
Emma Louise
and Kimbra, whose song with former CMJ participant Gotye, was nominated for Video of the Year at this years MTV Video Music Awards.

Previous years have produced well known artists such as…

Lady Gaga
The Clipse
Bon Iver
ASAP Rocky
and Kendrick Lamar.

aEM will definitely be on top of this event when it rolls around in two weeks, so make sure that you are looking out from updates from aEM on the CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival.
