As an artist, you have to be able to step out of your own world of music and be aware of the music around you.
With that said, I was watching MTV and the video for a song called We Made It by an upcoming hip hop artist named Josh Baze came on. A son of Brooklyn, NY, Baze possesses this cool boy demeanor and a rhyme scheme laced with a harmonious delivery and the gift of story telling. On stage, he displays a calm, collective swag… not the usual wild child demeanor you’d expect from a starving artist new to the industry.
The video prompted me to do more research on this new artist. His YouTube channel produced an autobiographical feature where he addressed his abilities and goals in the music industry. Most artists that are faithful to their craft can relate to his story and the way he pays homage to the forefathers of the game. Josh Baze knows his calling, dedicating his mind and heart to his craft. Make sure y’all view his website, www.JoshBaze.com, and his new documentary “My Music Means Something”. You’ll be inspired all the way through.
